If you are one of the hundreds of thousands of Calgarians who are dismayed at the recent decision by the Federal Government to deny funding for the four recreation centers that had been approved by P3 Canada, we ask for your support in one of many ways.

We have created an online petition that will be sent to each Calgary based Member of Parliament, including Prime Minister Stephen Harper, to voice our opposition to the abuse of political power that saw the decision of P3 Canada overturned.

Please sign the petition and include any comments you may want to pass on to those that have chosen not to support the constituents who elected them to office this past year.

I can’t believe the federal government would so blatantly change the rules two years after the application and expect to get away with it.

Just sitting watch my daughter play soccer across town which is 45 minute drive from Douglasdale where I live.
Why? Because the entire city of Calgary has less than a dozen indoor soccer fields.
Lets get these rec centers back on the table and get them built!

  3. I support the use of P3 projects for the better interest of the future of our community.

I am a U-16 soccer player and right now the city is extremely low on recreation facilities, especially in the south. Especially since the soccer bubble dome collapsed, it’s been very hard because we don’t get to play as much soccer. I was very disappointed to hear that we were not getting these facilities. It would urge more people to do physical activity if there were closer recreation facilities, many people are too busy for the commute

The recreational facilities would be a great addition to the city, as we are a growing population. We need these buildings in Calgary!!

The current facilties within city limit are well under used. No more new fitness center at the city limits to serve 5% of the population.
